Kelly has been an avid reader and writer of poetry since childhood. She minored in creative writing at Eastern Illinois University, where her love for words deepened. After teaching English to high school students for three years, she decided to pursue poetry further and moved to England to do so. With a clarity that only distance can provide for her, she often explores her family history and interpersonal relationships in her poems.
