The Dog Walker

On 24th November 1985 Lillian Hope went out to buy the family tea of fish and chips. She never returned, and left a husband, William, and two daughters, Rose, eight years old and Eva, ten.

Now, twenty-three years later, Rose is the perfect wife and mother, William is keeping his Alzheimers diagnosis a secret, and Eva is dreaming of somewhere where there are no boiled potatoes.

Jules Stanbridge has worked in publishing and for The National Trust. Because it seemed a good idea at the time, she once started an ill fated business making and delivering cakes. She lives in Bath and has a box of unopened champagne truffles in her kitchen cupboard.
