Jessi Gates worked as an accountant in Anchorage before flying across the pond to pursue her MA in Creative Writing at Bath Spa University. Although she has loved living in England, her home will always be Alaska, where the moose eat her tulips, and the sun sets at three in the afternoon. Her first novel, Muskeg, unfolds a small Arctic town that is frozen in the grip of a vicious cold snap.
