Within this anthology, there is work to make you think, make you feel, make you laugh, and make you want to read more. Within this anthology, there are writers who are very new, writers with a track record, writers with huge talent. Within this anthology, the very best work from the 2007 intake for the MA in Creative Writing at Bath Spa University demands to be read and appreciated. Please enjoy it.

To get this book together, a lot of people have done a lot of work. I so hope I haven’t inadvertently missed anybody out. Firstly, thanks to Tim Middleton for his continued support, both throughout the course and financially for printing and publishing this book through the Bath Spa University Presses; Richard Kerridge, who cares deeply about the course and each and every student on it; the tutors on the MA, without exception, who yearly take on a fresh-faced group of nervously ambitious students and make them better writers without trampling on their dreams; Gemma Matthews, who does so much more than is necessary to make this anthology the best possible, including design, typesetting and trying to support all contributors... and keeps her humour intact; plus Nikky Twyman, who copy-edits, and Antony Rowe, who prints.

Within the student community, so many people gave freely of their time. The editorial team consists of Michelle, Tracy, Jonathan, Jamie, Gordon, Zoe, Abby, Emerson, Matt and Heidi.
